Mary Helen Stephens

Mary Helen Stephens is the energy behind the business. Mary Helen moved to Alaska in 1963, just before the 1964 Good Friday Earthquake, from Colorado and Minnesota. Stan and Mary Helen married in 1964 and built their family and home in North Pole. Mary Helen’s first line of work was being a Physical Therapist, however, that was put to the side as she joined Stan in developing the company.

Today, Mary Helen is an integral part of the operations. She is often known as the soup lady, cooking up the daily servings of Clam Chowder, however, her real talent lies in her bottomless supply of energy. She is the first to the boat, last to leave and the first to jump for joy as the glacier calves. Mary Helen is integral in training our co-workers and for those lucky enough to be on board with Mary Helen they will be infected with her love for Prince William Sound and Alaska.
