Alan Steed first worked for Stan Stephens Cruises from 1992 – 1994 as a deckhand during summers. Originally calling from Idaho, Alan developed his love for the salt-water and boat operations while working with the Stephens family. In 1994 he secured his 100 Ton Masters license and began operating boats in the waters that surround Maui, Hawaii. In 2013 Alan found his way home to Alaska and Prince William Sound. At this time he began working for the Stephens’s family guiding tours in the Sound.
In the winter months and during his off time, Alan works with the local Pilot association as a part of the crew that supports bringing ships pilots to and from oil tankers, cruise ships and other vessels in Prince William Sound. While not working you are likely to find Alan tracking on the most recent Rugby game or spending time with his daughters.
